During my visit to Qingdao’s 2008 Beijing Olympics Museum on April 26, 2025—a city that hosted the iconic sailing competitions—I encountered a photograph that took my breath away. There, side by side, were the sailboats of Canada (my country) and China (the nation I love as my own), slicing through the waves in perfect harmony, embodying a shared pursuit of excellence.
This moment resonated deeply with me; it symbolized the grace of recognizing our common humanity. Today, I share this not merely as a memory, but as a vision of what we can achieve. A vision I passionately believe in and am working toward, contributing my small part to make it a reality.
